SmoothShoulder™: setup, charging, and how to use it

Charge it fully before the first session, then strap it over your shoulder. Heat and vibration each have their own button.

Step zero

What's in the box

The shoulder pad, two straps, and a Type-C charging cable. Use your own USB wall adapter. If something else looks missing, it was not part of the kit.

1× shoulder massage pad

Soft neoprene with heat and vibration built in, overheat protection, and the controller on the front. About 45 × 33 cm (17.7 × 13 in).

1× long chest strap

About 90 cm (35.4 in). Goes across your chest and under the opposite arm to hold the pad in place.

1× short arm strap

About 30 cm (11.8 in). Wraps around your upper arm so the pad stays snug over the joint.

1× Type-C charging cable

About 100 cm (39.4 in). Plugs into the Type-C port on the controller. Connect the other end to a USB wall adapter.

Ordered more than one? Each massager comes with its own straps and cable.

Charge it fully before the first use

The massager has a built-in 5000mAh battery. A full charge takes about 3 hours.

It does not run while charging

Plug the Type-C cable into the port on the controller, then into a USB wall adapter. The massager cannot be used while it is charging. Unplug it first, then start your session.

Input is 5V DC. Rated power is 7W.

First charge: about 3 hours

Make sure it is fully charged before the first use. The screen shows the charging progress as a percentage.

About 3 hours to full

Full when the screen shows 100%

While charging, the number on the screen counts up. When it reads 100%, the battery is full and you can unplug it.

100% means fully charged

Dry hands, dry plug

Charge it only in a completely dry place. Do not plug or unplug the cable with wet hands, and unplug it when you are not using it.

Still nothing after a full charge?

If it is fully charged and holding the power button for 2 seconds still does nothing, email your order number and a short video of what happens when you press power. Product defects are covered by our 365-day quality guarantee.

Know the buttons

The controller

Three buttons and a screen. The screen shows the heat temperature during use, and the charging progress while plugged in.

Power button

Hold for 2 seconds to turn it on or off. A short press turns on the anti-mistouch lock, which stops accidental presses. The lock light flashes red while it is on. Short-press again to unlock.

Heat button

Cycles three heat levels: Low 40–50°C (104–122°F), Medium 50–60°C (122–140°F), and High 60–75°C (140–167°F).

Vibration button

Cycles three vibration modes: continuous, intermittent, and slow. The indicator dots show which level is on.

°C or °F

Long-press the heat button and the vibration button to switch the temperature on the screen between Celsius and Fahrenheit.

Everyday use

How to put it on and use it

Strap it on over a thin shirt, hold power for 2 seconds, then set the heat and vibration. A session of about 12 minutes is all it takes.

Attach the strap to the pad

Clip the long chest strap onto the shoulder pad.

Put the pad on your shoulder

Place the pad over the sore shoulder with the controller facing forward, so you can reach the buttons.

Adjust the arm strap

Wrap the short strap around your upper arm. It should feel snug, not tight.

Fits arms 9" to 16"

Adjust the chest strap

Run the long strap across your chest and under the opposite arm, then tighten it so the pad sits close to the joint.

Fits chests 27" to 55"

Turn it on and set the modes

Hold the power button for 2 seconds. Then press the heat and vibration buttons to choose the level that feels right. Start low the first time.

About 12 minutes per session

Do

  • Wear it over thin clothing, like a T-shirt or a light top
  • Start on low heat until you know how it feels
  • Use it around the same time each day
  • Turn on the anti-mistouch lock if you keep bumping the buttons
  • Stop if the shoulder feels too hot or the session is uncomfortable

Don't

  • Wear it directly on bare skin. The heat can burn without a layer in between
  • Wear it over thick clothing. It blocks the heat and vibration
  • Stay on high heat for a long time
  • Use it while it is charging
  • Push through sharp pain. Stop and check with a doctor
Building the habit

A sensible first month

Each session is about 12 minutes. Consistency matters more than intensity, so pick a level you are happy to repeat every day.

WhenSessionWhat to expect
Days 1 to 3 One 12-minute session, low heat, gentle vibration Warmth around the shoulder and a light massage. Stop if it feels too hot.
Days 4 to 10 One session a day, heat and vibration where they feel useful The shoulder often feels looser after a long day at a desk or behind the wheel.
Week 2 to 3 Once or twice a day, about 12 minutes each Reaching and lifting often start to feel easier.
Week 4 onward Daily, whenever the shoulder feels tight or stiff Keep the habit that you will actually do.

Best time of day

Many people like the evening, to unwind before bed. If mornings are the stiff part of your day, use it then instead. The time you will actually repeat is the right one.

Looking after it

Care & storage

Unplug the cable first. Hand-wash the wrap gently, never get the controller wet, then lay it flat to dry.

Keep it happy

  • Disconnect it from power before cleaning
  • Hand-wash the wrap in water below 30°C (86°F), keeping the controller dry
  • Wipe the controller with a soft cloth and a mild detergent if it gets dirty
  • Lay it flat to dry, and make sure it is completely dry before use
  • Let it cool down, then store it flat in a clean, dry place

Avoid

  • Machine washing, wringing, tumble drying, or ironing
  • Dry cleaning, which can damage the heating element
  • Putting the controller or the power cord under water
  • Leaving it in direct sun or near a fire
  • Strong cleaners, hard brushes, or opening the unit yourself

Safety & who should check with a doctor first

Do not use it, or check with your doctor first, if you

are pregnant; are using it on a young child or on someone who cannot tell you how it feels; have a pacemaker or another implanted electronic device; have heart disease; have reduced feeling in the skin, including from diabetes, or do not sense heat well; have had recent shoulder surgery or have metal in the joint; or have an acute injury, fracture, or sudden swelling that has not been checked by a doctor.

Stop using it and seek advice if

you get severe pain or skin redness that does not fade, or you notice anything that does not sound or feel normal. Turn the massager off and contact us.

The massager can help relieve discomfort, but it is not a medical device and it is not a medical treatment. Do not take it apart or modify the heating film or circuit. Keep the battery, plugs, and charger completely dry.

Troubleshooting

Most of these are the battery, the button lock, or the clothing layer. Each one has a short fix.

Charge it fully first. A full charge takes about 3 hours, and the screen shows 100% when it is done. Then hold the power button for a full 2 seconds.
The anti-mistouch lock is probably on. Its light flashes red. Short-press the power button once to unlock it.
Check that heat is not on the lowest setting, and press the heat button to step up through Low, Medium, and High. Thick clothing also blocks the heat, so wear a thin layer underneath.
Press the heat button to drop to a lower level. Make sure there is a thin layer of clothing between the pad and your skin. Stop if it feels painful rather than warm.
That is normal. The massager is designed not to run while it is charging. Unplug the cable, then hold power for 2 seconds.
During a session, the number is the heat temperature in °C or °F. While charging, it is the charging progress as a percentage. Long-press the heat and vibration buttons to switch between °C and °F.
